One of our favourite local events has returned for 2025 – the High Lodge Farm Easter Trail! My daughter always loves going to the seasonal events they hold here, and last year she was gutted when the wet weather meant the Easter one couldn’t happen (it was simply too muddy and wet for them to be able to run it).
This year is a go though! We had an absolutely brilliant afternoon at the farm. As ever there was the fun trail through the woodland, with letter clues to find dotted about. Find all 7 letters to make a word to receive a sweet treat when you leave.
There’s also some fun painted Spring and Easter inspired creatures, as well as lots of opportunity to simply have fun in nature. Balancing along logs, climbing or swinging on ropes all featured this year and were great fun for kids and adults alike.

If you’re local to South Oxfordshire this is a great trip out:
- Good outdoors fun in nature
- More to do than just the trail – the play activities set up are just as fun
- You can pace the activity to suit your kids – ideal for all ages
- Easy parking on site
- Refreshments can be bought onsite, and there’s toilets (always a bonus)
- Not too expensive – kids are £8, adults are £6.50
- Note that there is a £1 booking fee – why these can’t just be included in ticket prices I never understand, though!
So, What’s There?
We also went on a barrel ride behind the small tractor. It’s an extra £3 per person if you fancy a go. It’s a short ride that takes you up the hill, between the woodland and up to the sheep and back. A good giggle and my daughter loved the experience. You don’t see anything different than if you were walking, so it’s definitely an optional extra, though.
We enjoyed stopping for a cuppa after the trail – having the trailers serving refreshments is a good addition to the event. There’s a tented area with benches under to keep you dry or out the sun, depending on the whims of our Great British Weather. The Tipsy Toot had the ever favourite Salted Caramel Brownie again – if you’ve not tried it, you need to. I snapped some pictures of the menus, so if you’re planning a trip and wondering what the food options may be, take a look.

The play area was very popular and I have to say I really like this – it’s rustic but fun! Homemade giant checkers, snakes and ladders, even a version of Twister. The sandpit was a huge hit, especially amongst the younger guests. My mini human had great fun launching herself onto the hay bales and performing leaps across – she got good at dusting herself off when she didn’t quite make it…!

If you’ve not been before, it’s worth a trip – you can easily spend a good 2 or 3+ hours enjoying yourselves here. Tickets can be booked on the High Lodge Farm website.
